SYNOPSIS
Planning and Preparation for Summer Camp is underway! Each Session this year will be a one week session where children ages 6-15 can create, produce, and perform their very own musical right on our Main Stage! Throughout the day, campers will build acting, dance and voice skills, and characterization alongside team leadership, ensemble work, creative growth, and friendships that will continue throughout their lives. We are also taking all necessary precautions to keep our camp sanitized, clean, and safe for all campers.
For each session, campers will present script ideas to the acting specialist who will then write out scenes based on all the ideas given by the campers on the first day of camp. Each group will learn one musical number to both sing and dance to. In addition to that we will have one group number that the entire camp will learn to close our show. Musical numbers are chosen by camp staff and are tied into the script based on either the scenes written or theme of that particular camp.
YPTC’s brand new two week summer intensive will be designed to not only prepare them to be audition ready, but much much more. One of the key things our intensive will focus on is the basic fundamentals of singing, dance, and acting. By using highly engaging techniques our intensive students will be able to take their musical theatre skills to another level. In the end we will put all those amazing practices together for an amazing performance on our final day.
Each session will have a stage performance of what was learned on the Friday of each session at 3:30p.m. No lunch or snack is provided, we eat lunch at about 12:30 daily. Camp time 9:00 - 4:30 M-F. Parents will enjoy a full stage show at the end of each session that will demonstrate what our campers have created and learned from concept to curtain call!
